The Donut and Coffee Ministry helps build and strengthen the bonds within the San Pedro family.
The ministry is about family and friends and fellowship. It’s about hugs and handshakes. It’s about people genuinely happy to see one another. It’s about slowing down for a few minutes and catching your breath with someone who appreciates the same thing. It’s about meeting new people and making new friends. It’s about the joy on the face of a two year old when she gets to make her own choice, and the determination of a three year old when he carries his half full cup of juice to the table to show everybody he’s a big boy now.
The Donut and Coffee Ministry even has its own patron saint. While you are enjoying your donut, remember to ask Honore (Honorius) of Amiens, patron saint of pastry chefs, to bless the hands that made your pastry. This 6th century bishop has a Parisian street (Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore) and a delicious dessert (St. Honore Cake) named in his honor. His feast day is May 16th.
So come by and join us Sunday mornings after the 9:00 am mass, around 10-10:15 am.
This is a ministry the entire family can join. Ministry volunteers pick up donuts and drinks early on Sunday morning, serve the refreshments after the mass, and then clean up afterwards. Our Women’s Guild and Men’s Club, along with donations from parishioners, provide the funding for the Coffee and Donut Ministry.
